Serving our Listeners: Streamlining Programming to Come Fall 2009

Hey Everyone,

After coming across some old schedules in the 'RSU archives from 10, 20, and even 30 years ago, I realized that this station could use some block programming. In the 80s, WRSU was largely rock during the days, as we almost are now. However, there are some shows that are jammed between other shows during the day that could be better placed. We have a lot of great shows that would be better served if they were placed near other shows of their type. Therefore, over the summer we will be working on permanently implementing a block programming system with free-form rock during the daytime hours Monday-Thursday, and a more loose definition of this during the evenings since we don't always have a lot of each of the other genres of music. This seems to be a great way to serve listeners who could lock us in for long periods of time and know when to listen year-round. Keep checking the Studio Blog for eventual proposals.

Yours in radio,

Dan Mulcahey
